History

FROM START-UP TO INNOVATION LEADER

For over a decade, dentists all around the globe have used SICAT’s products. As a dental industry’s leading innovator, SICAT develops and markets 3D based analysis and planning software, surgical guides and therapeutic appliances at its headquarters based in Bonn, Germany.

THE SICAT SUCCESS STORY

2004

Company founded as a joint venture between HICAT and Sirona Dental Systems GmbH. Start of prototype development for a 3D dental solution based on Siemens technology.

2007

The Galileos Implant 3D software for implant planning is launched in combination with the first SICAT surgical guide, the SICAT CLASSICGUIDE.

2009

CEREC meets Galileos makes it possible for the first time to combine optical surface scan data and prosthetic designs with 3D X-ray data to plan implants digitally based on anatomical and prosthetical information.

2012

The range of surgical guides is extended by the SICAT OPTIGUIDE. The first SICAT surgical guide that can be planned and ordered in a fully digital workflow.

2014

With the introduction of SICAT Function and SICAT JMT+, the real patient-individual movement of the mandible can be visualized for the first time true to anatomy and in 3D.

2015

With SICAT OPTIMOTION, SICAT completes their range of products. In combination with SICAT Function, a therapeutic appliance for the treatment of temporomandibular disorders is offered.

2016

Introduction of SICAT AIR and OPTISLEEP, the first solution for the treatment of snoring and obstructive sleep apnea.

2018

With SICAT Endo, SICAT expands their portfolio by another software application. With SICAT Endo and ACCESSGUIDE, diagnosis and planning of endodontic treatments can be supported in clinical implementation with surgical guides for the first time.

2019

HICAT takes over 100% of the company shares from Dentsply Sirona. Therewith, SICAT operates as fully independent company.

2020

Introduction of the new and open SICAT Implant 2.0 software which allows for easier, faster, safer and more intuitive implant planning.

2021

SICAT presents the innovative solution for today’s modern digital dentistry powered by artificial intelligence: the first ever ready-to-print automatic surgical guide design for 3D printing in-office or in the lab.
